Design & Build

The Nubia Z80 Ultra boasts a design that is slightly softer and rounder compared to its predecessor. While the retro camera aesthetic may not be for everyone, the device offers IP68/IP69 certification for water resistance and comes in Black, White, or Blue finishes.

Screen & Speakers

Featuring a 6.85-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, the Z80 Ultra provides a sharp viewing experience. The stereo speakers, while decent, lack low-end richness at higher volumes.

Specs & Performance

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and up to 24GB of RAM, the Z80 Ultra delivers class-leading performance. Benchmark tests showcase its speed and efficiency, rivaling even top-tier competitors.

Cameras

Equipped with a 50MP main camera, 64MP telephoto lens, and 50MP ultra-wide shooter, the Z80 Ultra’s camera system offers versatility. However, the selfie camera underperforms, delivering subpar results.

Battery Life & Charging

With a massive 7200mAh battery and 80W wired charging support, the Z80 Ultra excels in battery longevity. The addition of wireless charging further enhances its convenience, though a separate charger is required.

Software & AI

Running on Android 16 with Nebula AIOS 2.0, the device offers a mix of customization and AI features. However, the UI could benefit from simplification, and software support is limited to three years of updates.

Price & Availability

Priced competitively starting at £579, the Nubia Z80 Ultra offers a premium experience at a mid-range cost. Available in different configurations, it presents a strong value proposition compared to other devices in its class.

Should You Buy the Nubia Z80 Ultra?

For users seeking top-tier performance without breaking the bank, the Nubia Z80 Ultra presents a compelling option. While it excels in power and battery life, aspects like design, camera quality, and software could use refinement.
