Motorola has just unveiled the Edge 60 Stylus, a budget-friendly smartphone positioned as a rival to the illustrious Galaxy S25 Ultra. This new offering from Motorola combines a compelling set of features with an included stylus, all at an incredibly competitive price point. However, before we get too excited, it’s crucial to note that the Edge 60 Stylus has currently only been confirmed for the Indian market.
One of the standout features of the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus is its integrated stylus, a unique trait shared only with the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Alongside this, the phone boasts Motorola’s signature sleek design, swift 68W charging capabilities, and ample 256GB storage space. While these features are impressive, some skepticism arises due to the implementation of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, which may raise performance concerns despite the attractive pricing.
In terms of battery life, the Edge 60 Stylus houses a respectable 5,000mAh battery, a commendable feat considering the inclusion of a stylus. The camera setup is equally noteworthy, featuring a 50Mp Sony Lytia 700C primary sensor and a 13Mp ultra-wide lens. Drawing parallels to the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, the Edge 60 Stylus offers a slightly smaller 6.67-inch 120Hz pOLED display, complemented with 15W wireless charging and robust build quality certified with IP68 and MIL-STD-810H standards.
However, a potential drawback lies in the limited provision of only two OS upgrades and three years of security updates. Despite this, the pricing of the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus at Rs. 22,999 in India (approximately £200 through direct conversion) significantly offsets some of these compromises. Comparing it to the earlier launched Edge 60 Fusion in India and the UK, priced at Rs. 24,999 and £299.99 respectively, we can estimate a possible UK price of around £279.99 if the Edge 60 Stylus ventures overseas.
When juxtaposed with the staggering £1,249 price tag of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, the affordability of the Motorola Edge 60 Stylus becomes evident. The uncertainty surrounding its availability in regions beyond India leaves us eagerly anticipating updates. As we keep a close watch on this development, the potential arrival of the Edge 60 Stylus in the UK or Europe could introduce a compelling budget-friendly alternative to the high-end smartphone market.
