The Nothing Phone (3) is making waves as Nothing’s inaugural ‘true flagship’ device, set for pre-order in the coming days. Excitingly, despite its launch with Nothing OS 3.5 based on Android 15, a significant software leap to Nothing OS 4, built on Android 16, is already in the pipeline.

Carl Pei, Nothing’s CEO, has hinted at an autumn release for this update, with a more specific timeframe mentioned in the reviewers’ guide as Q3 2025. This means a swift upgrade for Nothing Phone (3) users, potentially outpacing Samsung’s One UI 8 rollout for devices like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Anticipated to be the first in line for the new OS, the Phone (3) will kickstart a series of software enhancements. Nothing is stepping up its game, committing to five years of OS updates and an impressive seven years of security support for the Phone (3), setting a new standard in the industry.
