Samsung’s recent Galaxy Unpacked event in January 2025 has set the tech world abuzz with its exciting announcements. The spotlight was on the much-anticipated Galaxy S25 series, along with a glimpse into the future with augmented and virtual reality.

Galaxy S25 Series: Samsung maintains its tradition of delivering a flagship experience with the Galaxy S25. This compact device features a 6.2-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, powered by the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and boasting 12GB of RAM. The phone’s camera setup includes a 50Mp main sensor, a 12Mp ultrawide lens, and a 10Mp 3x telephoto sensor, all supported by a 4000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities. With a starting price of £799/$799.99, the Galaxy S25 offers an entry-level option in Samsung’s lineup.

Galaxy S25+: For those who prefer a larger display, the Galaxy S25+ comes with a 6.7-inch QHD+ screen powered by the same Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset and 12GB of RAM. The device also receives a battery boost to 4900mAh with faster 45W wired charging. Priced at £999/$999.99, the Galaxy S25+ promises a premium experience at a mid-tier flagship price point.

Galaxy S25 Ultra: The Galaxy S25 Ultra stands at the pinnacle of Samsung’s lineup, featuring a 6.9-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a slimmer design and titanium construction. Its standout feature is the groundbreaking camera system with a 200Mp main sensor, a 50Mp ultrawide lens with macro capabilities, and a 10Mp telephoto lens. With prices starting at £1,249/$1,299.99, the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers top-tier specifications and sophisticated finishes.

Galaxy S25 Edge: Samsung teased the Galaxy S25 Edge, hinting at a ‘Slim’ model with a thin profile and a display size between 6.7 and 6.8 inches. Leaks suggest similar camera specifications to the S25 Ultra, with some adjustments. The phone is expected to launch in April, bridging the gap between the S25+ and S25 Ultra in terms of pricing and features.

Project Moohan: Samsung’s foray into extended reality (XR) with Project Moohan promises a revolutionary headset experience. Developed in collaboration with Google and Qualcomm, this device integrates seamlessly with the Galaxy ecosystem, offering advanced AI interactions and lightweight design for immersive gaming, education, and entertainment. While initially targeting developers, a consumer release is on the horizon.

Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event marks the beginning of an exciting year for the tech giant. Pre-orders for the Galaxy S25 series are already live, with availability starting on 7 February 2025. As we await the S25 Edge and Project Moohan, the tech world eagerly anticipates the innovative offerings Samsung has in store.
