In a digital landscape where Generative AI (genAI) is rapidly gaining ground, a recent study by Ernst & Young (EY) uncovers a concerning trend. Despite 75% of companies embracing genAI technologies, only a third have established the necessary responsible controls. This discrepancy between adoption rates and governance readiness poses significant challenges for organizations venturing into the AI realm.

While corporate executives acknowledge the transformative potential of genAI, many confess that their governance frameworks are ill-prepared to keep pace with the evolving AI landscape. Despite growing apprehensions among CEOs, overall awareness of genAI risks within the C-suite remains relatively low compared to consumer sentiments. One of the critical challenges highlighted in the report is the inadvertent reinforcement of bias by open AI models, potentially leading to regulatory risks.
