Vivo X300 Pro: A Glimpse into 2025’s Best Camera Phone

Vivo’s latest flagship smartphones, the X300 and the X300 Pro, have recently hit the market in China. As a long-time admirer of Vivo’s X-series for their exceptional photography experience, I was eager to test out the X300 Pro, the most feature-packed model in the lineup.

So, what’s new?

The Vivo X300 Pro boasts a sleek design reminiscent of the iPhone, with a flat, boxy aesthetic and an innovative Action Button on the side. Notably, the camera module stands out with its large circular array, showcasing Vivo’s commitment to photography excellence.

This model debuts MediaTek’s cutting-edge Dimensity 9500 chip, featuring Vivo’s V3+ imaging chip integrated into the SoC. This configuration enables lightning-fast autofocus, precise subject tracking, and advanced video capabilities like 4K 120fps recording and portrait effects at 4K 60fps.

A Focus on Photography

The camera enhancements are a standout feature of the X300 Pro. Equipped with a brand-new Sony main sensor and upgraded telephoto sensor developed in collaboration with Samsung, the device promises unmatched clarity, improved light capture, and superior stabilization.

Moreover, the X300 Pro houses a robust battery, with the Chinese variant boasting a 6510 mAh silicon carbon pack that outperforms higher-capacity batteries. However, international versions may feature a 5440 mAh battery, offering reliable performance nonetheless.

Software Revamp and Global Appeal

Vivo’s software has undergone a significant overhaul, with the global introduction of Origin OS, known for its enhanced features, aesthetic appeal, and improved performance compared to FunTouch OS. The new OS iteration incorporates design elements reminiscent of Apple’s Liquid Glass, elevating the user experience.

With the X300 series, Origin OS goes global for the first time, offering users a visually pleasing interface and enhanced functionality. The revamped software, inspired by renowned designs, promises a seamless and enjoyable user experience.

The Photography Kit: Elevating Creativity

The X300 Pro introduces an upgraded photography kit, including a durable case, improved materials, and a secure lens attachment. This kit essentially transforms the device into a compact camera with a super-zoom lens, complete with an ergonomic grip, tactile controls, and support for photographic filters.

Notably, the Zeiss teleconverter in the kit magnifies the telephoto lens by 2.35x, producing exceptional results akin to professional mirrorless cameras. The camera app enhancements now allow users to leverage the teleconverter across various modes, enabling high-resolution imaging and advanced video recording capabilities.

Camera Performance and Beyond

The X300 Pro excels in camera performance, particularly in autofocus speed and image stabilization. The telephoto extender, coupled with improved autofocus, enhances the device’s capabilities for diverse photography needs, from sports to portraiture.

The device’s selfie camera receives significant upgrades, including autofocus and Zeiss collaboration for natural color profiles and bokeh effects. While my testing period has been brief, the X300 Pro has already showcased impressive performance and potential.

When Can You Get Your Hands on One?

While the global launch date remains undisclosed, the imminent arrival of the X300 Pro suggests an exciting release on the horizon. The availability of the X300 series in various regions remains uncertain, with hopes for broader accessibility beyond traditional markets.

If you’re in the market for a cutting-edge camera phone, the Vivo X300 Pro could be the device worth importing for unparalleled photography experiences. Keep an eye out for its release in your region and seize the opportunity to explore its exceptional imaging capabilities.
