Microsoft’s latest move in the AI arena brings a revamped Copilot app to Windows 11 testers. This updated version introduces a more user-friendly interface, reminiscent of other AI interfaces like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini. The incorporation of XAML makes Copilot a native Windows app, separating UI from application code for a smoother experience.
Currently available to a select group of Windows 11 testers via the Windows Insider program, this preview version aims to enhance the Copilot experience. Microsoft’s continuous efforts to improve Copilot extend beyond Windows, reaching users across its ecosystem, including Microsoft 365. Recent updates include enhancements to Copilot Studio software and the introduction of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, empowering agents with advanced functionalities.
Among its features, Copilot Chat enables seamless access to Azure services, facilitates query coordination among agents, and allows the creation of custom agents based on specific triggers. Users can also monitor agent performance through analytics, ensuring efficient operations. Microsoft’s commitment to innovation is further evident with the introduction of the “intelligent meeting recap” feature in Teams, streamlining post-meeting tasks.
Expanding its reach, Microsoft has also unveiled a Copilot app tailored for Mac users. Exclusive to Macs with M-series chips and macOS 14.0 or later, this AI assistant delivers a range of functions from content creation to image generation. By catering to diverse platforms, Microsoft demonstrates its dedication to making AI tools accessible across various devices, catering to a broader user base.
