While the landmark-based navigation feature is already available on Android and iOS platforms, it is currently limited to users in the United States. Similarly, proactive traffic alerts, which notify users of route disruptions even when not actively navigating, are exclusive to US Android users.
Moreover, Google Maps now leverages Gemini to provide insights on the services offered at a destination, allowing users to inquire about specific features like highly rated dishes at a restaurant. The introduction of Lens functionality enables users to use their phone’s camera to interact with Google’s assistant, but this feature is initially available only in the US.
