An Introduction to Artificial Intelligence: Neural Networks, NLP, and Word Embeddings
Part 1: The Very Basics
How Does It Really Work?
Artificial intelligence (AI) has surged in popularity, notably with innovations like ChatGPT. Despite its ubiquity in discussions, grasping the essence of AI remains a challenge for many. Present-day AI tools excel in text processing, image and video generation, coding, and task automation. While some foresee a future where AI supplants programmers and crafts products autonomously, the doomsday predictions seem overly dramatic. In my view, AI should be seen as a potent instrument that, when harnessed thoughtfully, enhances efficiency and productivity.
Consider this: AI can swiftly generate code snippets, decipher vague queries, and furnish prompt responses—akin to an advanced iteration of Google. The results may border on the mystical, yet the mechanism behind AI’s wizardry is more grounded in logic than enchantment.
Stay tuned for the upcoming sections where we delve into neural networks, natural language processing (NLP), and word embeddings—an exciting dive into the core of AI’s functionality.
